Who we are

Playdate is a private, invite-only beta run by an individual developer for friends-and-family testing. It is not a commercial service yet. Contact: the person who invited you to the beta.

What we collect

  • Account: email address, display name, password hash (or Google sign-in identifier).
  • Profile: optional neighborhood and avatar.
  • Children you add: first name, last name, date of birth, optional photo. Only carers you accept can see them.
  • Activity: outings you post, RSVPs, chat messages, favorite places.
  • Location data: only locations you explicitly pick on the map. We do not track your device location in the background.
  • Technical: standard server logs (IP, browser) kept short-term for security and debugging.

Who can see what

  • Outings are visible to your friends and to carers of any child you tag.
  • Chat messages are visible to other members of that conversation.
  • Child details (name, DoB, photo) are visible only to accepted carers and to parents you have linked kids with.
  • Your email is never shown to other users. Email lookup during friending only returns yes/no.

Third parties

  • Lovable Cloud / Supabase — database & authentication hosting.
  • Google Maps Platform — map rendering, place search, geocoding. Map interactions send query data to Google.

Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by asking the person who invited you, or from the Profile page (Delete account). Since this is a beta, data may also be wiped at the end of the test period — you will be notified first.

Beta caveat

Do not post anything you would not be comfortable losing. The beta database may be reset, and bugs may cause data loss. See the Beta Rules.
